Escalating Violence at Afghan-Pakistan Border
At least 10 Afghan nationals, including nine children, were killed in Pakistani airstrikes targeting eastern Afghanistan overnight Monday, according to Afghan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid. The attacks mark a sharp escalation in cross-border tensions this week.
‘Heartbreaking Loss of Life’
Mujahid stated on social media today that Pakistani air forces bombarded Khost province’s Gurbuz district, killing five boys, four girls, and one woman. Four civilians were also injured in separate strikes on Kunar and Paktika provinces. 🕊️
Recent Clashes Intensify
This comes amid rising friction between Afghan and Pakistani forces along their shared border. While neither side has officially claimed responsibility for initiating hostilities, local sources report increased military activity since early November 2025.
Analysts warn the situation could destabilize regional security as winter approaches. Stay tuned for updates as this story develops.
