China's top Taiwan affairs official Song Tao issued a stern warning to Japan this week, declaring Beijing will not tolerate any interference in Taiwan-related matters. The remarks came during a Thursday meeting with a fishing industry delegation from the Taiwan region.
💡 "Any external interference by Japan or other countries is doomed to fail," said Song, who heads both the CPC Central Committee's Taiwan Work Office and the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office.
The meeting highlighted cross-strait cooperation opportunities, with Song emphasizing the mainland's commitment to improving livelihoods for Taiwan compatriots, particularly farmers and fishers. Taiwan delegation leader Lin Pin-kuan echoed the sentiment, stating: "Both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one China and are one family."
🌊 The talks focused on enhancing practical cooperation in fisheries and other industries, underscoring 2025's push for people-centered development across the strait.
