China’s Offshore Wind Power Breaks Records in 2025 🌊💨

Historic Renewable Energy Milestone Reached

China just flipped the switch on its most ambitious clean energy project yet – an offshore wind farm located over 80 km from shore, now fully operational as of December 2025. This engineering marvel is generating enough electricity to power 1.4 million homes annually ⚡, equivalent to removing 500,000 gas-powered cars from roads permanently.

The project’s 2.8 billion kWh output will:

  • Save 860,000 tonnes of coal consumption 🔥➡️🌱
  • Prevent 2.37 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions 🌍✅
  • Boost China’s renewable energy capacity by 1.2% this year alone

"This isn’t just about megawatts – it’s proof that sustainable solutions can scale," said a Shanghai-based energy analyst we spoke to. The development comes as global climate talks intensify ahead of 2030 emissions targets.
