Over 30 international martial artists from 10 countries recently put their skills to the test at the 13th Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Competition in China. The event’s Duanwei grading system – think of it as a real-life martial arts ‘leveling up’ challenge 🥋 – drew athletes passionate about proving their mastery of this ancient practice.

To earn elementary recognition, participants needed at least three years of rigorous training. But the real 🔥 came at advanced levels: Candidates were evaluated on their understanding of wushu philosophy, technical precision, and their contributions to promoting the art globally.

📢 ‘This isn’t just about kicks and punches,’ one participant told CGTN’s Sergey Gordeev. ‘It’s about carrying forward a 1,500-year-old legacy.’ From France to Argentina, competitors showcased how Shaolin culture bridges continents – proving that martial arts truly speak a universal language. 💪
