Cyprus Goes Green with Chinese Electric Buses 🚌⚡

Cyprus is charging toward a cleaner future! 🌱 The Mediterranean island has rolled out 35 silent, eco-friendly electric mini-buses in Limassol, all manufactured by Chinese company Kinlong. The move by public transport operator EMEL aims to slash emissions while offering a 🎧‘silent disco’-level quiet ride for commuters.

EMEL CEO George Kyriakou told media the initiative isn’t just about transport—it’s a statement. \"30 passengers in one bus means 30 fewer cars on the road,\" he said, highlighting the fleet’s zero-emission credentials as a win for both traffic and air quality.

The shift comes as global leaders at COP28 in the UAE push for faster climate action. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis recently urged cities to embrace electrification, and Cyprus’s new buses align with this vision. Could this spark an EV domino effect across Europe? 🔌🚗
