Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh Killed in Tehran Attack 🌍💥

Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh was killed early Wednesday in Tehran during a visit to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s new president, according to statements from Hamas and Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC). The incident has sparked fears of escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The IRGC confirmed that a strike targeted Haniyeh’s residence in Tehran, leading to his death and that of a bodyguard. “The cause is under investigation,” the group stated. Haniyeh, a key figure in Hamas leadership, had been in Iran for high-level diplomatic engagements.

A Hamas official condemned the attack as a “grave escalation,” telling Reuters it would “not achieve its goals.” Analysts suggest the killing could deepen regional instability amid ongoing conflicts involving Hamas and Israel.

Tehran has not yet identified responsibility for the strike. The timing of the attack, during a major political event, raises questions about its geopolitical implications. 🌏⚡
