Move over, dumplings and red envelopes—this Lunar New Year, it's all about animal-approved celebrations! The Yunnan Wild Animal Park in Kunming has whipped up a \"New Year’s feast\" tailored to its residents’ tastes, blending tradition with creature comforts.
From giant pandas crunching on bamboo-shaped cakes to tigers enjoying meaty \"fortune pockets,\" the park’s caretakers designed festive menus matching each species’ diet.
\"It’s like a Michelin-star meal for animals,\" joked one zookeeper, highlighting how even lemurs got fruit platters arranged like traditional Chinese lanterns.
The initiative, part of China’s Spring Festival celebrations, aims to showcase wildlife conservation while connecting with cultural heritage. \"Animals deserve to join the festivities too,\" said park director Li Wei, noting the meals also help educate visitors about biodiversity.
