UN Demands Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza as China Advocates for Peace 🌍🕊️

The UN General Assembly has passed a resolution calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, aiming to bring an end to the ongoing conflict. The resolution garnered strong support with 158 votes in favor, nine against, and 13 abstentions.

Palestinian Ambassador Riyad Mansour emphasized the urgency, stating, \"We will continue to knock on the door of the Security Council and the Assembly until a ceasefire is put in place. Gaza is the bleeding heart of Palestine and an open wound for humanity.\"

Despite the overwhelming support, the resolution was met with rejection from Israel and the United States. Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon criticized the vote, calling it a \"betrayal\" and an \"abandonment\" of the hostages. The U.S. Deputy Ambassador Robert Wood echoed these sentiments, warning that adopting the resolution could send a dangerous message to Hamas.

In a show of international solidarity, Ambassador Fu Cong, Permanent Representative of China to the UN, urged the global community to support the ceasefire. \"The world cannot revert to an era dominated by the law of the jungle,\" Fu stated. \"A ceasefire is essential for saving lives and restoring peace.\" 🇨🇳🤝

China's call for peace underscores the global desire to see an end to the violence and a path towards lasting peace in the region.
