Get ready, winter sports fans! 🏂 Wednesday, October 30 marks the 100-day countdown to the highly anticipated 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. The organizing committee revealed exciting updates during a press conference on Tuesday.
Slated to take place from February 7 to 14, 2025, the Games will feature over 1,500 athletes from 34 countries and regions competing in 64 events across 11 disciplines and six sports.
As the proud hosts, China is set to send more than 170 athletes to participate in all 64 events, according to Zhou Jinqiang, vice president of the organizing committee. All 13 venues have been confirmed, with five in Harbin hosting ice competitions and eight in Yabuli ready for snow events.
Han Shengjian, vice governor of Heilongjiang Province, emphasized that all venues have been revamped using environment-friendly and low-carbon technologies, ensuring a sustainable and green Games.
Noteworthy participants include athletes from Japan and South Korea, who will compete in every event. Making their debut, Cambodia and Saudi Arabia have also registered to join the Asian Winter Games for the first time in history.
