Premier Li Qiang and Lao Leader Strengthen China-Laos Partnership

In Vientiane last Friday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Thongloun Sisoulith, the Lao president, to discuss enhancing practical cooperation between China and Laos. 🇨🇳🤝🇱🇦

Li emphasized China's commitment to building a \"community with a shared future\" characterized by high standards, quality, and heightened cooperation, promising more benefits for both peoples.

The meeting highlighted the enduring friendship between the Chinese mainland and Laos, spanning over 60 years of diplomatic ties. Despite the changing international landscape, the bond has remained strong and vibrant.

Under the strategic guidance of top leaders, both countries are set to deepen political mutual trust and strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships in areas like trade, investment, production capacity, electricity, and minerals. 💡💼

A key focus is the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and transforming Laos from a landlocked to a land-linked nation. The China-Laos Railway continues to be a driving force for all-round cooperation, aiming for visible results. 🚄

Cultural exchanges aren't being left behind. China is ready to expand collaboration with Laos in culture, tourism, and education, fostering mutual understanding and friendship. This lays a solid foundation for deeper bilateral cooperation.

Thongloun expressed unwavering support for China’s core interests and the one-China principle, reinforcing the commitment to the three global initiatives: Global Development, Security, and Civilization Initiatives.

Looking ahead, both nations are eager to align their development strategies further with the BRI and elevate their community-building efforts to benefit their people even more.
