On Monday evening at 11:59 p.m., a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck Jishishan County in Gansu Province, located in the northwestern Chinese mainland. The disaster has sadly claimed the lives of over 100 people.
The earthquake caused significant damage to residential buildings and disrupted essential services such as water, electricity, and roads in and around the epicenter.
In response to the tragedy, a total of 1,440 firefighters and other rescue personnel from the national comprehensive fire rescue team rushed to the disaster area to aid those affected.
