Chinese mainland Lawmakers Discuss Key Policies at NPC Session 🇨🇳✨

Senior lawmakers from the Chinese mainland gathered on Sunday for an important session of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee. Leading the discussions was Zhao Leji, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, who attended the plenary meeting to oversee the proceedings.

One of the major topics was the Law on State-Owned Assets of Enterprises. The report emphasized the need to establish and enhance mechanisms for managing state-owned enterprises and state capital, aiming to boost efficiency and accountability.

Another significant discussion centered around the Yellow River Protection Law. Lawmakers are focused on promoting law-based governance to conserve and restore the river's ecosystem, ensuring its health for future generations. 🌊🌿

The session also reviewed the 2023 Audit Rectification Report. By the end of September, a staggering 538 billion yuan (approximately $74.8 billion) had been involved in rectification efforts, with over 2,800 individuals held accountable for various infractions.

Discussions on fiscal policies were also on the agenda. The report on the Allocation and Utilization of Fiscal Funds for Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Emergency Management proposed improvements to fiscal systems and fund allocation models to better handle emergencies and natural disasters.

Additionally, lawmakers addressed reports on farmland protection, legislative recording and review, and measures to combat misconduct and corruption among officials. These discussions highlight the ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and ensure sustainable development across the Chinese mainland.
