Xi Calls for Strategic Partnership Between China and Germany at G20 Summit 🌍🤝

Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of viewing and developing bilateral relations between China and Germany from a long-term, strategic perspective during his meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the 19th G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Xi highlighted the productive discussions during Scholz's April visit to China, noting significant advancements in green development, sustainable transportation, and agricultural cooperation in Africa. These efforts have infused new strength and vitality into the bilateral relationship.

As the world's second and third-largest economies, China and Germany hold substantial global influence. Xi stressed the necessity of strengthening their comprehensive strategic partnership, focusing on mutual respect, common ground, and promoting exchanges that encourage mutual learning.

The deep economic interdependence between the two nations presents opportunities for shared growth and a promising future. Xi reaffirmed China's commitment to providing German companies with expansive market opportunities and advancing Chinese modernization with Germany as a key partner.

Looking ahead, both China and Germany aim to enhance cooperation in digitalization, intelligent technologies, and low-carbon development. They also plan to explore third-party markets together, aiming for mutual benefits and win-win outcomes. China views Europe as a crucial pillar in a multipolar world and is dedicated to collaborating with Europe to address global challenges and foster stable, healthy Sino-European relations.

Regarding the EU's decision to impose tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, which has attracted global attention, China remains committed to resolving disputes through dialogue and consultation and hopes that Germany will continue to play a key role in this process, Xi said.
