In a poignant gesture of remembrance, the remains of 43 Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea are scheduled to be returned to the Chinese mainland from the Republic of Korea (ROK) in late November. 🕊️
This upcoming repatriation marks the 11th effort since the handover agreement was signed between China and the ROK, underscoring the enduring commitment between the two nations to honor their shared history.
From 2014 to 2023, China and the ROK successfully completed 10 consecutive handovers, involving the remains of 938 CPV martyrs along with related artifacts. This continuous collaboration is a testament to the mutual respect and dedication both sides hold in preserving the memories of those who served.
Both China and the ROK have expressed their intention to continue their cooperation in these humanitarian efforts, ensuring that the sacrifices of nearly 200,000 CPV soldiers, most of whom are interred on the Korean Peninsula, are duly honored and remembered.
As the world moves forward, these acts of repatriation serve as a bridge between past and present, fostering deeper understanding and stronger ties between the Chinese mainland and the ROK. 🌏🤝
