Xinjiang’s Tourism Soars by 62% During Qingming Holiday

Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region had a stellar Qingming Festival holiday, with tourism revenue soaring by over 62% 📈 to nearly 2.2 billion yuan (about $310 million). According to official data, the region welcomed 2.21 million tourists, marking a 20.53% increase compared to last year 🧳✨.

Xinjiang's success was fueled by a diverse mix of cultural and tourism events, blending sightseeing with local customs, sports, and even fruit-picking activities 🍇🏞️. These innovative approaches helped attract visitors eager to experience the region's unique offerings.

Looking ahead, from April to June, various prefectures in Xinjiang will host over 300 cultural and tourism activities 🎉. The regional culture and tourism department also announced more than 80 preferential policies, including reduced admission fees to scenic spots and discounts on dining and accommodation 🏨🍽️.
