UN Chief Sounds Alarm on Gaza Crisis: ‘A Teaspoon of Aid in a Flood of Need’ 🌍🚚

UN Secretary-General António Guterres delivered an urgent plea Friday, comparing the current humanitarian aid reaching Gaza to 'a teaspoon when a flood is needed' 🌊. With over 2 million residents facing famine and 80% of Gaza now a 'no-go zone' due to Israeli military operations, Guterres warned the world is witnessing a 'cruel conflict' in real time.

🚛 Aid Gridlock & Desperation

While Israel recently allowed 400 aid trucks into Gaza via the Kerem Shalom crossing, only 115 were collected—and nothing reached northern Gaza. Fuel, cooking gas, and water purification supplies remain blocked, while UN staff report life-threatening delays and strict quotas. 'Families are being starved with the world watching,' Guterres said.

💔 'Risk of Famine' for All

The UN’s five-stage aid plan—with 160,000 pallets ready—is stalled. Guterres stressed that every hour without sustained access deepens the crisis: 'More people will die. The long-term consequences will be profound.'

✊ Calls for Ceasefire & Compliance

The UN chief reiterated demands for a permanent ceasefire, hostage releases, and Israel’s compliance with international humanitarian law. 'Let’s do it right—and right away,' he urged, emphasizing that aid delivery requires safety guarantees for workers amid looting risks.
