Chinese Skier Qi Guangpu Soars to Gold at FIS Aerial World Cup 🏅❄️

Olympic champion Qi Guangpu proved age is just a number as he clinched gold 🥇 at the FIS Aerial World Cup in Lac-Beauport, Canada, this weekend! The 34-year-old Chinese athlete scored 124.00 points, leaving competitors in his frosty wake. 'I kept working… and now I’m here,' Qi said, grinning like a snowman in July. ❄️✨

Five Chinese athletes made the men’s finals, but only Qi and Li Xinpeng advanced to Round 2. Canada’s Lewis Irving grabbed silver 🥈 (102.50), while Team USA’s Christopher Lillis took bronze 🥉 (85.40).

On the women’s side, Australia’s Laura Peel, 35, soared to victory (117.19 points)—her first win since March 2023. China’s Chen Meiting (102.31) and Olympic champ Xu Mengtao (92.72) rounded out the podium. 🪂

The aerial action continues Sunday—stay tuned for more sky-high flips and frosty thrills! ❄️⏱️
