🇨🇳 Taiwan’s WWII Legacy: A United China’s Triumph 🌏✨

History lessons just got a lot more relevant! A Chinese mainland spokesperson emphasized this week that Taiwan’s liberation from Japanese occupation during World War II cements its status as an inseparable part of China. The remarks come as China prepares to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. 🕊️

Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, called out Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities for "glossing over Japan’s colonial history" to push a divisive agenda. 🔍 "Their actions betray the sacrifices of all Chinese people, including those in Taiwan," she said at a press conference.

Commemorative events, including a gathering on October 25, will honor the 80th anniversary of Taiwan’s return to China after WWII. Zhu urged residents of Taiwan to join mainland compatriots in remembering this shared history and "safeguard the Chinese nation’s unity." 🇨🇳

Why does this matter now? With cross-strait tensions simmering, Beijing’s message is clear: Taiwan’s past and future are intertwined with the mainland. Critics argue the DPP’s stance risks erasing a legacy forged by millions who resisted occupation. 💬
