🎶 US-China Youth Choirs Harmonize in Fuzhou 🌉

Young singers from the Chinese mainland and the United States are hitting all the right notes in Fuzhou this week, blending voices and cultures at the 2025 China-U.S. Youth Choir Festival. 🎤✨ The event, described as a 'musical handshake,' features joint performances, workshops, and cultural exchanges aimed at fostering understanding between the two nations.

'We’re not just singing together—we’re learning how to listen,' said Emily Carter, a 19-year-old choir member from California, during a break at Fuzhou’s historic Three Lanes and Seven Alleys district. On the Chinese side, 21-year-old Li Wei shared: 'Music erases the 'us vs. them' idea. When we harmonize, we speak the same language.'

The festival comes at a time when cultural diplomacy is gaining momentum globally. Participants are exploring local Fujian traditions like Min opera while introducing American gospel and jazz styles. Organizers highlight that over 300 young artists are collaborating on a finale piece mixing Mandarin, English, and the universal language of rhythm. 🥁🌏

As one attendee put it: 'This isn’t just a concert—it’s a TikTok-worthy masterclass in cross-cultural friendship.' 📱💞
