Israel Pauses Gaza Fighting for Aid; Jordan & UAE Launch Airdrops 🕊️🌍

Israel has announced a daily 10-hour pause in military operations across parts of Gaza to allow humanitarian aid deliveries, as Jordan and the UAE parachuted emergency supplies into the war-torn region. The move comes amid mounting global concern over starvation and collapsing infrastructure affecting Gaza’s 2.2 million residents.

Key Developments:

🔹 Daily pauses from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time will apply to designated humanitarian zones, including Gaza City and coastal areas.
🔹 New aid corridors opened Sunday, with over 100 trucks cleared for entry – though the UN warns this is still far below pre-war levels.
🔹 Jordan and UAE airdropped 23 tonnes of aid, but officials stress this is a "band-aid solution" compared to land-based deliveries.

Behind the Headlines:

While Israel says it’s easing restrictions, aid groups report bureaucratic delays and dangerous conditions. At least 10 people were injured by falling aid packages during Sunday’s airdrop, according to Gaza health officials.

The UAE is also funding a pipeline project to bring desalinated water from Egypt to 600,000 Gazans – a critical need as six more deaths from malnutrition were reported in the past day alone.

Meanwhile, ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas remain frozen, with U.S. President Trump stating "Israel will decide its next steps" during a visit to Scotland.
