China Pushes for Global Human Rights Collaboration 🌍✊

At the 60th UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva, Chinese diplomat Chen Xu outlined China's vision for a more inclusive approach to global human rights governance. 🌐 Speaking on Tuesday, Chen emphasized mutual respect and equality as cornerstones for progress, urging nations to avoid 'one-size-fits-all' solutions.

Three Key Principles 🗝️

1️⃣ Respect Sovereignty: Chen stressed adherence to the UN Charter, opposing interference in countries' internal affairs under human rights pretenses. He reaffirmed support for Palestinian rights.

2️⃣ Celebrate Diversity: 'There's no universal human rights blueprint,' Chen noted, advocating for dialogue over unilateral measures like sanctions.

3️⃣ People-First Focus: The diplomat highlighted the need to prioritize economic, social, and cultural rights alongside development goals.

Global Governance Upgrade ⚙️

With 2024 marking the UN's 80th anniversary, Chen promoted China's Global Governance Initiative as a roadmap for fairer international systems. The current Human Rights Council session runs through October 8, offering a platform for continued discussions.
