China Launches First Tactile Maps for Visually Impaired Users 🌍✨

China just leveled up accessibility! Ahead of International White Cane Day (Oct 15), the China Braille Library unveiled groundbreaking tactile maps – the Accessible Map of China and Accessible Map of the World – designed specifically for visually impaired users. 🗺️👐

Using cutting-edge digital Braille printing tech, these maps feature raised textures to distinguish borders, landmarks, and oceans. Imagine feeling the Himalayas or tracing the Great Wall with your fingertips! 📍 The project followed strict geographic standards to ensure accuracy while making global knowledge more inclusive.

Bonus drop 🎉: The Palace Museum teamed up with the China Disabled Persons' Federation to release tactile books like Touch the Treasures of the Palace Museum, letting users “see” ancient artifacts through touch. Talk about bridging history and accessibility! 🏯✋
