Lebanon Orders Army to Counter Israeli Border Raid 🚨🇱🇧

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has directed the military to "confront any Israeli incursions" after a deadly pre-dawn raid in southern Lebanon escalated tensions near the volatile border. The move comes just weeks after a fragile ceasefire aimed to calm clashes between Israel and Hezbollah.

The Blida Raid: What Happened?

Israeli forces infiltrated the village of Blida early Wednesday, advancing over 1 km into Lebanese territory. Local reports say troops stormed a municipal building, killing overnight worker Ibrahim Salameh. Residents described hearing screams during the 3-hour operation before Israeli withdrawal.

Ceasefire Under Strain? 🤝💥

While Israel claims it targeted Hezbollah infrastructure and faced an "immediate threat," Lebanon calls it a sovereignty violation. The incident tests the U.S.- and France-brokered truce that paused months of cross-border fighting linked to Gaza war spillover.

President Aoun urged international monitors to "move beyond documenting violations" and pressure Israel to respect the 2024 ceasefire terms. Meanwhile, Hezbollah remains silent—for now.
