The People's Bank of China (PBOC) called for unified efforts during a conference on optimizing payment services, aiming to deliver tangible improvements soon. Governor Pan Gongsheng emphasized the need for comprehensive and coordinated actions to streamline payment processes.
Alipay, one of the big players in China's payment scene by Ant Group, is making strides to accommodate international travelers. Now, foreigners can use their overseas bank cards through the app's international version or simply scan Alipay QR codes with their home e-wallets.
But that's not all! Ant Group is tackling challenges that foreign visitors face when using Alipay for everyday transport, like taking subways and buses in major Chinese cities.
In addition, Chinese banks are expanding their acceptance of overseas bank cards and making it easier for foreigners to use cash during their stay.
