Toyota Extends Production Halt for 3 Models Amid Scandal 🚗⏸️

Toyota has hit the brakes ⚠️ on production for three of its models—the Corolla Fielder, Corolla Axio, and Yaris Cross—until at least July 31, as investigations into testing irregularities continue. The auto giant initially planned to resume work June 28 but extended the pause due to ongoing probes by its internal team and Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. 🕵️♂️

The scandal, which erupted earlier this month after Toyota admitted falsifying vehicle certification tests, has rippled across Japan’s auto industry. Honda, Mazda, Yamaha, and Suzuki also face scrutiny for similar certification shortcuts—think ‘Fast & Furious’ meets corporate drama 🎬. Officials have already conducted on-site inspections at all five companies.

While Toyota’s factories in Miyagi and Iwate prefectures stay quiet, the company hasn’t confirmed a restart date. For car enthusiasts and investors alike, it’s a waiting game ⏳ as the iconic brand navigates one of its biggest credibility challenges in years.
