China and Australia are “natural trading partners” with a bond built on decades of collaboration, Australian diplomat Dominic Trindade declared in a recent interview with CGTN. As commercial minister at the Australian Embassy in Beijing, Trindade highlighted the often-overlooked role of services trade in boosting cross-border connections between the two economies.
“When people think of trade, they picture goods like iron ore or wine,” he said. “But education, tourism, and financial services are just as vital. These sectors create jobs and drive innovation on both sides.”
With China being Australia’s largest trading partner, Trindade emphasized the partnership’s resilience and potential for growth in green energy and tech. “Our histories are intertwined,” he added, “and the future looks even brighter.”
