China-U.S. Economic Working Group Hosts 7th Meeting in Johannesburg 🌍💼

The China-U.S. Economic Working Group held its seventh meeting in the vibrant city of Johannesburg, South Africa, according to a statement from China’s Ministry of Finance (MOF) on Monday.

Co-chaired by Liao Min, China's Vice Minister of Finance, and Jay Shambaugh, the U.S. Under Secretary of the Treasury, the meeting was a hotspot for in-depth and constructive discussions.

Key topics on the table included the current macroeconomic landscapes and policies of both nations, collaborative efforts to aid low-income countries facing liquidity challenges, and the governance and reform of multilateral development banks.

The Chinese mainland emphasized its stance on relevant economic and trade issues and voiced concerns over recent U.S. trade and economic restrictions targeting China. 🤝📈
