During the 2025 Spring Festival, the Chinese mainland witnessed an unprecedented surge in cross-border travel, as reported by China Media Group (CMG) on Saturday.
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan cross-sea passage was bustling with activity, handling a total of 333,900 vehicles. Daily traffic volumes peaked at an impressive 95,400, showcasing the region's vital role in facilitating travel and commerce.
In the first four days of the holiday, border inspection agencies in Shenzhen managed over 2.1 million cross-border trips, marking a 9.4% increase compared to last year. This significant rise highlights the growing demand for international travel and economic interactions during the festive season.
Meanwhile, Hekou County in southwest Yunnan Province, a key border region with Vietnam, also experienced a peak in cross-border passengers. Many Vietnamese tourists flocked to Hekou, taking advantage of the vibrant Spring Festival celebrations in China.
