Hong Kong Fuels Greater Bay Area Innovation 🌉💡

As Hong Kong marks 28 years since its return to China, its role as a global innovation powerhouse is taking center stage in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) mega-project. Johnny Ng Kit-chong, a lawmaker and national political advisor, calls the city a "bridge" connecting tech, finance, and culture across this 11-city economic zone spanning the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao.

"Hong Kong’s international networks and rule of law make it the perfect launchpad for startups eyeing global markets," Ng told NewspaperAmigo.com, highlighting how the GBA’s combined population of 86 million creates a "testing ground for next-gen ideas." From AI labs in Shenzhen to green finance initiatives in Guangzhou, collaboration is booming 🚀.

Young entrepreneurs are riding the wave: Over 40% of Hong Kong’s university graduates now explore opportunities in GBA cities like Zhuhai and Dongguan. "It’s like having 11 cities’ worth of resources in your back pocket," said 24-year-old app developer Emily Lau, who splits her time between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

With cross-border infrastructure like the high-speed rail cutting travel times to minutes, the GBA is becoming Asia’s answer to Silicon Valley – but with dim sum breaks and late-night neon-lit brainstorming sessions 🥟🌃. As Ng puts it: "This isn’t just about business – it’s about building tomorrow’s culture."
