Sky-High Ambitions in Guangdong
A slice of sci-fi is becoming reality as construction begins on the world's first mass-production flying car factory in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province! The facility, backed by XPENG AEROHT (a subsidiary of EV giant XPENG), aims to rev up the next era of transportation with its modular “Land Aircraft Carrier” model.
Phase one of the 18-hectare site will focus on producing air modules, targeting an annual output of 10,000 units. “Think of it like a Transformer—part car, part aircraft,” says XPENG AEROHT founder Zhao Deli. The vehicle, which aced its first manned flight in September, is set to hit pre-sales by year-end.
Why Low-Altitude Economy Is Soaring
Guangzhou’s Huangpu District is already a hub for over 50 companies in this futuristic sector. Meanwhile, Beijing plans to boost its low-altitude economy to 5,000+ enterprises by 2027, with flights for everything from emergency rescues to drone deliveries.
Could your next commute be airborne? Stay tuned—this is just the start.
