Young Artist Bridges China’s Past & Present Through Vibrant Paintings 🎨🌉

Meet Jiangnan (Olivia Su), an 8-year-old artist from the US whose brushstrokes capture the soul of three iconic Chinese cities. 🌆 Her latest work, inspired by a summer trip, weaves family roots, tradition, and modernity into a visual love letter to China.

West Lake, Hangzhou: Olivia’s canvas begins with the serene beauty of Hangzhou’s West Lake, framed by the historic Leifeng Pagoda. 🏯 'I watched the sunsets here every day—it felt like a painting coming to life,' she says.

Yangming Ancient Town: Nestled in Yuyao, this middle layer of her artwork mirrors her grandparents’ hometown. Cobblestone streets and Ming-era architecture reflect centuries of history—and countless family stories. 🏮

Shanghai’s Skyline: Crowning the piece is Shanghai’s neon-lit skyline, where Olivia marveled at the 'dancing lights' during late-night strolls with her cousins. 🌃 'It’s like the future and the past holding hands,' she adds.

Olivia’s art, shared widely on social media, has sparked conversations among young creatives about reconnecting with heritage. 🧑🎨 'I want everyone to see China the way my heart does,' she smiles.
