Young Scientists Unite in China for Global Innovation Summit 🔬🌍

Over 800 young scientists from 71 countries and regions gathered in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, for the 2024 World Young Scientist Summit (WYSS) last week. The event, co-hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Zhejiang government, focused on harnessing tech-driven solutions for global challenges 🌱💡.

Science for a Better Tomorrow

Wan Gang, president of the China Association for Science and Technology, highlighted how digital tools and AI are giving young researchers 'giant shoulders to stand on'—accelerating breakthroughs in climate action, health equity, and more. UN Under-Secretary-General Tshilidzi Marwala echoed this, calling global collaboration 'non-negotiable' to address inequality and sustainability.

Four trailblazers from the U.S., Britain, France, and the Chinese mainland received the Young Scientist Sustainable Development Goals Award 🏆. Their work spans renewable energy, AI ethics, and pandemic-ready healthcare systems.

Since its launch, WYSS has connected scientists across 100+ countries and partnered with 200+ global tech organizations. This year’s summit also spotlighted youth-led startups merging TikTok-style creativity with hard science—proving innovation isn’t just for labs anymore 🚀.
