FedEx has supercharged its logistics network in the Chinese mainland by increasing the frequency of its Xiamen-U.S. cargo flights, the company announced on Thursday. 🚚🌏
The Xiamen-U.S. cargo route, which kicked off in June 2024 with weekly flights, is now soaring five times a week – from Tuesday to Saturday – using Boeing 777 freighters. The journey starts at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, makes a pit stop in Incheon, Republic of Korea, and then heads to Anchorage, Alaska, and Memphis, Tennessee. This enhanced schedule slashes transit times for parcels and heavy cargo from Fujian to North America by one to two days, ensuring faster deliveries for businesses and consumers alike. ⏱️📦
On the same day, FedEx also launched a brand-new international gateway operation facility in Xiamen, covering over 3,800 square meters. This cutting-edge facility boasts fully automated sorting lines that boost efficiency and cater primarily to customers in Xiamen and the broader Fujian region. Additionally, it supports exports from Changsha and Shantou by integrating customs clearance and sorting processes, streamlining cross-border e-commerce and freight handling. 🏭✨
Robert Chu, vice president of FedEx China, highlighted the strategic significance of the Chinese mainland in the company's global operations. He pointed out that the expanded flights and new facility enhance FedEx's ability to link second- and third-tier Chinese cities with global markets, fueling the growth of local export businesses. 📈🌐
Xiamen continues to be a key hub for FedEx's operations in the Chinese mainland, aligning with the company's strategic partnership with Xiamen authorities to boost international air logistics and cross-border e-commerce. 🤝✈️
