China’s Renewable Revolution: Power Capacity Soars by 14.5% 🚀🌞💨

China is lighting up the future! 🔋⚡ According to data from the National Energy Administration, China's total installed power generation capacity hit a whopping 3.19 billion kilowatts by the end of October, marking a 14.5% increase from last year.

Solar power is shining bright with a surge of 48%, reaching about 790 million kilowatts. Meanwhile, wind power is also on a high, growing by 20.3% to around 490 million kilowatts.

From January to October, China's major power companies pumped in a massive 718.1 billion yuan (~$99 billion) into power supply projects, up 8.3% from the previous year. Investment in power grid projects zoomed by 20.7%, totaling 450.2 billion yuan.

China's commitment to renewable energy is setting records, with over 200 million kilowatts of new renewable capacity in the first three quarters of 2024 alone—accounting for more than 80% of all new installations.

Thanks to the world's most systematic and comprehensive carbon emission reduction policies, China has hit its wind and solar power targets more than six years ahead of schedule, making significant strides in the energy transition.
