During a milestone event celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Cancer Foundation of China, Doctor Zhi Xiuyi, the deputy secretary general, shared crucial insights on managing pulmonary nodules wisely.

Dr. Zhi emphasized, \"If the doctor recommends a follow-up in a year, don't insist on having one in six months,\" advising patients to trust their medical professionals' timelines.

He explained that a CT scan, or computed axial tomography, is a powerful imaging tool that offers detailed internal views of the body. However, \"Too frequent CT scans may expose patients to excess radiation, which is harmful to our bodies,\" cautioned Dr. Zhi.

For those seeking expert consultations, Dr. Zhi recommended undergoing thin-slice CT scans at the same hospital. \"Having all your data in one place allows doctors to access more high-quality images, upwards of 200 images, which are helpful for more accurate diagnosis, especially for small nodules,\" he explained.
