Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for greater efforts to adapt Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of the times. 🌐📚
As the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Xi delivered his remarks during an instruction on the project of studying and developing Marxist theory in the new era.
The conference, held in Beijing on Friday, conveyed Xi's instruction to attendees. This project, launched 20 years ago, has been pivotal in promoting the Party's innovative theories and solidifying Marxism's guiding role in the ideological domain.
Xi emphasized the importance of ramping up theoretical research and enhancing public communication to help the public better understand the Party's innovative theories. He highlighted the necessity of integrating Marxism's core principles with China’s specific realities and rich traditional culture. 🏯✨
Moreover, Xi stressed the need to accelerate the development of an independent knowledge system for Chinese philosophy and social sciences and to cultivate a pool of high-caliber theoretical talent.
At the conference, Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, echoed Xi’s sentiments. Cai called for intensified efforts to study Marxism's fundamental tenets, address challenges unique to China’s realities, and explore the depth of traditional Chinese culture and its modern values to invigorate theoretical innovation.
