In a significant move to bolster their relationship, China and Turkmenistan have pledged to enhance bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. The commitment was solidified during a meeting in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, where Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov discussed future collaborations.

Wang Yi emphasized the importance of continuing their traditional friendship and implementing key consensuses reached by their leaders. He highlighted the need to support each other on core interests, explore new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation, and achieve breakthroughs in energy partnerships. Wang also expressed China's willingness to expand trade and investment with Turkmenistan, encouraging more Chinese-funded enterprises to invest in the region.

On his part, Meredov reaffirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to its longstanding friendship with China. He expressed eagerness to maintain close high-level exchanges and leverage the Turkmenistan-China Cooperation Committee to advance their flagship natural gas trade project. This partnership aims to create a sustainable and prosperous future for both nations.

With these new commitments, China and Turkmenistan are set to deepen their economic and cultural bonds, paving the way for a stronger and more interconnected relationship.
