In the misty hills of Qinxing Village, Tongren City, a 1,000-year-old ginkgo tree and its fiery maple companion have become the latest viral sensation. Known locally as the 'husband-and-wife trees', their golden and crimson leaves now blaze together in a romantic winter spectacle that’s straight out of a fairytale.
Early winter’s chill has transformed the duo into a living canvas—the ginkgo’s sunshine-yellow foliage dancing with the maple’s bold red hues. Locals say the trees, standing side by side for centuries, symbolize enduring love. \"They’re like an old couple holding hands through the seasons,\" says villager Li Mei.
Fun fact: Ginkgos are often called 'living fossils'—they’ve existed since dinosaurs roamed! Meanwhile, the maple’s seasonal glow has made this Guizhou hotspot a must-visit for nature influencers and Studio Ghibli vibes seekers.
