Beijing Subway Line 3 Opens: Expanding China's Longest Metro Network
The wait is over! On December 15, the highly anticipated Beijing Subway Line 3 officially opened its doors to the public. This new line stretches from the east to the west of the city, seamlessly connecting the north and south, enhancing the already impressive metro network.
With the addition of Line 3, Beijing's metro now spans a whopping 879 kilometers, making it the longest in China and one of the most extensive in the world. Originally planned back in 1957, it took decades to bring Line 3 to life, but the new corridor is set to become a vital artery for daily commuters and visitors alike.
