Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called for stronger administrative law enforcement to boost quality and effectiveness across various sectors.
Speaking at a State Council study session on Monday, Li highlighted the ongoing issues of administrative discretion abuse and unfair law enforcement in some regions and industries. He stressed the importance of tackling these problems to improve the business environment and enhance public trust.
To address these concerns, Premier Li announced a special initiative set to launch in 2025. This initiative aims to regulate business-related law enforcement, increase market confidence, and stabilize expectations for businesses and investors.
Li also mentioned that flexible measures will be applied to minor offenses that lack intent and pose limited social harm, ensuring a fair and balanced approach to law enforcement.
The session featured a lecture by Professor Hu Jianmiao and included discussions with Vice Premiers He Lifeng and Zhang Guoqing, as well as State Councilor Wu Zhenglong.
