Deadly M6.8 Earthquake Strikes Xizang, Rescue Efforts Underway 🌍🏚️

Tragedy struck Dingri County in the city of Xigaze, within the Xizang Autonomous Region, as a powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit the area at 9:05 a.m. Beijing Time on Tuesday. The quake has left 32 people dead and injured 38 others, according to reports from Xinhua News Agency.

Buildings near the epicenter have suffered severe damage, with many collapsing and social media buzzing with clips of shattered rooftops and broken windows. 🏚️😢

In response, China's State Council's earthquake relief and emergency management departments have activated a Level-3 emergency response. A dedicated working group has been dispatched to oversee and guide the rescue and relief operations. 🚑👷‍♂️

Additionally, the Western Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army has sent a 50-member team to aid in the ongoing rescue efforts, working tirelessly to reach those affected by the disaster.

The tremors weren't just limited to Xizang; residents in Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, felt the quake approximately 400 kilometers away. 🌏🔔

As rescue teams work around the clock, the community remains hopeful for the safe recovery of those impacted by this devastating earthquake.
