A spokesperson for the Chinese mainland expressed gratitude to the people of Taiwan for their messages of care and condolences following a recent earthquake in the Xizang Autonomous Region.
Chen Binhua, representing the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, reported that the magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in Xizang on Tuesday morning, resulting in significant loss of life and property.
In response, the relevant authorities launched comprehensive disaster relief efforts, focusing on relocating residents from the affected areas to safe shelters.
Chen highlighted that various sectors and individuals in Taiwan have extended their support and condolences in multiple ways, illustrating the strong bond between compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
