Chinese Peacekeepers Excel in UN Mine Clearance Certification in Lebanon

👏✨ All 60 members of the Chinese military engineering contingent from the 23rd Chinese Peacekeeping Force to Lebanon just rocked their United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) qualification assessment, passing with flying colors on their first try! 🇨🇳🕊️

These dedicated warriors earned dual certifications in mine clearance and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), officially securing their \"minefield pass.\" This achievement marks the first UN assessment since the peacekeepers arrived in mid-December last year. 🌟

For the assessment, UNMAS sent two examiners to the mine clearance test site right within the contingent's camp. The impressive team of 60 included 43 mine-clearing engineers, five EOD specialists, and 12 medical staff. They underwent rigorous tests for both mine clearance and explosive ordnance disposal, proving their mettle in the field. 💪🔍

During the evaluation, the examiners set up complex scenarios, including signal sources and unexploded ordnance (UXO). Despite these challenges, the Chinese peacekeepers showcased exceptional skills and strict adherence to standard procedures, breezing through the UN's comprehensive assessment. 🛡️✅

\"We conducted rigorous and meticulous preparations following UN mine clearance standard operating procedures,\" said Bu Zhenwei, combat engineer company commander from the 23rd Chinese peacekeeping multi-functional engineering contingent to Lebanon. \"Every soldier studied diligently and trained intensively, passing the certification process step by step.\" 🗣️📚

\"This has laid a solid foundation for our upcoming missions,\" Bu highlighted.

Mine clearance and EOD certification are crucial as the \"final exam\" before peacekeepers can operate in minefields, ensuring safety and effectiveness in their missions. 🎖️🗺️

According to UN certification procedures, participants undergo five days of training followed by three days of testing. The assessment covers more than 30 tasks across 10 core subjects, including detector calibration, signal source identification, mine excavation, battlefield casualty evacuation, mine destruction, and explosive ordnance inspection. 🧪📊

Kudos to the Chinese peacekeepers for their stellar performance and dedication to maintaining peace and safety in Lebanon! 🌍❤️
