Harbin, the icy gem of the Chinese mainland, lit up the night sky Friday as the 9th Asian Winter Games kicked off with a dazzling ceremony at the Harbin Ice-Snow World 🌌. Olympic legends and rising stars united to ignite a lilac-shaped cauldron—symbolizing resilience and unity—while children holding glowing ice lanterns added a touch of magic to the event.
🏆 Torchbearers carried the flame through Harbin's historic landmarks, including the century-old Central Street and the frozen Songhua River, before star athletes like speed skater Ning Zhongyan led Team China into the stadium. Over 120 torchbearers celebrated the city’s legacy as the first Chinese host of the Games since 1996.
❄️ With athletes from across Asia competing in frosty events, the Games highlight Harbin’s role as a winter sports hub. Will new records be set on the ice? Stay tuned for updates!
