A rollercoaster Chinese Super League (CSL) match saw Shanghai Port and Qingdao West Coast trade punches in a thrilling 3-3 draw in Shandong Province, with late drama and young talent stealing the spotlight!
Qingdao struck first, capitalizing on two shaky moments from Shanghai's goalkeeper Yan Junling. Brazilian forward Matheus Indio snatched a 9th-minute opener, and Abdul-Aziz Yakubu doubled the lead just minutes later.
But 19-year-old rising star Li Xinxiang ignited the comeback: his 25th-minute goal kept Shanghai alive. Despite Yakubu’s second goal before halftime, Li dazzled again in the second half, assisting Gustavo’s header and setting up Leonardo’s 83rd-minute equalizer.
Shanghai’s draw keeps them atop the CSL standings, but Qingdao’s historic three-game unbeaten streak marks them as this season’s dark horse.
Elsewhere in the CSL: Zhejiang stunned Wuhan Three Towns 4-0, while Yunnan Yukun edged Shenzhen 4-3 in another high-octane clash.
