Cliffside Cleaners: Tianzhu Mountain’s 20-Year Guardians 🌄✨

Imagine dangling from a rope 1,000 meters above ground, armed with nothing but a trash picker and sheer determination. That’s daily life for the cliffside cleaners of Tianzhu Mountain in Anhui Province, who’ve spent two decades preserving one of China’s most breathtaking landscapes. 🧗♂️

Dubbed the mountain’s 'beauticians,' this fearless team scales jagged cliffs to remove litter and debris left by hikers. Their recent efforts from May 6–18 spotlighted their vital – and often overlooked – role in protecting both the environment and cultural heritage sites carved into the rock faces.

‘We’re like the mountain’s skincare routine,’ joked one cleaner, who’s been part of the squad for 12 years. ‘Every scrape and cleanup keeps it healthy for future generations.’ 💪

Their work isn’t just about trash duty: they also monitor erosion and report safety risks, blending ancient mountaineering techniques with modern eco-awareness. For travelers and locals alike, these unsung heroes prove that sustainability can be an extreme sport.
