China & Africa Boost Ties at FOCAC Meeting 🌍🤝

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with African counterparts in Changsha this week to strengthen cooperation under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The talks focused on deepening economic ties, advancing multilateralism, and rolling out new initiatives like zero-tariff access for African exports to China. 🌱

During a meeting with Ghana’s Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Wang highlighted Ghana’s historic role as one of the first African nations to establish diplomatic relations with China. He emphasized China’s commitment to expanding collaboration in trade, infrastructure, and technology, while opposing unilateralism. 🚀

"China is ready to work with Ghana to implement FOCAC outcomes and uphold a shared vision of open cooperation," Wang said. Ablakwa praised China as Ghana’s top trading partner and expressed enthusiasm for further joint projects. 💼

The meeting also outlined new measures, including tariff-free access for 100% of African goods entering China—a move set to boost Africa’s global trade footprint. Analysts say the talks signal a fresh chapter in South-South cooperation. 🌐
