🚀 Hong Kong & Macao Labs Boost National Tech Vision 🌟

Hong Kong and Macao just leveled up in the global science game! 🧪 This week, 19 national key laboratories were officially unveiled in the two special administrative regions (SARs), signaling a major push to integrate their research power with the Chinese mainland's innovation ecosystem.

At Monday's ceremony in Hong Kong, 15 labs—many linked to world-class universities—received national recognition. SAR Chief Executive John Lee doubled down on plans to transform the city into a global tech hub, saying: "We’re unlocking our universities' potential to drive breakthroughs that benefit everyone." 🇭🇰💡

Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Yin Hejun praised Hong Kong's "unique strengths" in innovation, while Macao’s four newly recognized labs earned applause for their work in niche fields like AI and biomedicine. Macao leader Sam Hou Fai highlighted their "local roots with national impact" during Tuesday’s event. 🇲🇴🔬

With cross-border collaboration now in hyperdrive, these labs could become launchpads for everything from climate tech to quantum computing. As one official put it: "Science doesn’t care about borders—and neither should progress." 🌐✨
