A delegation of Hong Kong-based consular officials and business leaders kicked off a week-long tour of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Friday, aiming to unlock new partnerships in tech, agriculture, and infrastructure. The trip comes as part of efforts to bridge resources between Hong Kong’s financial prowess and Xinjiang’s booming industries. 🌱💡

Cui Jianchun, commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), highlighted the synergy potential: "Xinjiang’s strategic location and natural resources paired with Hong Kong’s innovation hubs could redefine regional trade." 🏔️🌆

David Whitwam of the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong told media he’s eyeing collaborations in dairy tech, from cattle breeding to sustainable production. The group will visit Belt and Road Initiative zones in Urumqi, Kashi, and Yining, along with fruit processing plants and dairy giants. 🥛📈
