Hong Kong’s seventh-term Legislative Council (LegCo) has wrapped up its four-year term with a record-breaking 130 bills passed—49 more than its predecessor! 🎉 Starry Lee, chairperson of the LegCo House Committee, called this a “testament to the legislative body’s effectiveness” under the city’s executive-led governance system.
Lee praised legislators for staying laser-focused on their roles as “steadfast patriots” and defenders of public opinion, even as their term neared its end. The collaboration between lawmakers and the executive branch, she noted, has supercharged Hong Kong’s governance and reinforced the “One Country, Two Systems” framework. 🤝
